I am thrilled and honoured to announce that one of my remixes has won the prestigious award for The Akademia ‘Best Dance/Electronica Song’ for my remix of ‘Free the World’ by The Uncle Earl.
To be recognised in such a competitive field is truly humbling, and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me along this journey, from the talented musicians who inspire me to the dedicated friends and fans who continue to champion my work and efforts.
Moreover, I am proud to share that The Uncle Earl has since been unanimously voted to be inducted into the Akademia Hall of Fame. This prestigious honour is a testament to their enduring impact on the world of music, and I am grateful to have played a part in their journey to greatness.
My ‘Free the World’ Remix
For my remix, I endeavoured to pay homage to the essence of the original while adding my own unique flair and bringing a retro yet modern flair to the entire piece, reflecting the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music but crossing over into the nostalgic, funky worlds of 70s and 80s electro funk.
When I first embarked on the journey of remixing The Uncle Earl’s track, I was inspired by the originality and depth of the vocals, and the insane creativity and richness in the harmonies. As my role in this project as a remixer, my role was to infuse them with new life and vitality.

The journey of a music producer is one of constant evolution and growth, and I am excited to see where the future will take me. For someone who has struggled for a long time to be happy with the music that I create and shied away from putting it out there as much as I should, I reflect on this achievement as a personal win and encouragement to share more!
This accomplishment is not only a personal triumph but also a testament to the collaborative spirit and creative energy that drives the music industry, with both Paul Mixtailes (Mfunker) and The Uncle Earl offering me the opportunity to work with them.
To all aspiring artists and producers out there, I offer this piece of advice: never stop believing in the power of music to change the world, which is very much aligned with the message of the song ‘Free the World’ itself, in many ways. Cheers, Uncle!
